Elegant Family Crest Inspired 70th Birthday Party Invitations

I had the honor of designing these special invitations for the 70th birthday party of Bishop Andrew Merrit who presides over Straight Gate International Church here in Detroit, Michigan. I worked with his family to design these elegant pocketfold style invitations in the color palette of ivory, antique gold and navy blue. Beautiful metallic papers and envelopes were used in the design. Prior to sending out the formal invitation, save the date postcards were sent out to guests. The most unique feature of all of the stationery is the crest style monogram I designed. It was even used as part of the decor at the event!

70′s Disco Birthday Party | Vinyl Record Invitations

“Lets dance, lets shout…shake ya’ body down to the ground”! Did that quick line from a classic song make you dance in your seat a little? Good! Just imagine the reaction from guests when these AMAZING invitations arrived in their mailboxes! I repurposed 45 RPM vinyl records to create an invitation for a surprise 70′s/Disco themed birthday party for my client in Las Vegas. The front and back of the record had a custom printed label that contained the wording details for the party. I also handcrafted a custom sleeve/jacket for the record to slide in and out of. This is definitely one of my FAV party invitations from last year and i’m so glad I have these photos to show it off to you!

Dominican Republic Destination Wedding | Boxed Sand Dollar Invitations

These beautiful boxed invitation sets were designed for lovebirds, Danielle and Kevin! They were married in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic in May of 2011. The invitations were designed in a color palette of purple, lime green and chartreuse with lots of texture and tropical beach elements. Featured inside of a chartreuse box mailer was a purple pocket holder with a wide lime green satin ribbon band, purple raffia and a real sand dollar embellishment. Housed inside of the pocket holder was a three layer 3-d style invitation panel. I love how the main invitation portion is “raised” above the tropical flower backdrop. Also included in the set was an itinerary insert card.

30th Birthday Party Invitations | Peacock Glam Inspired

Just in case you didn’t know, 30 is definitely the new 20. Especially since i’ll be celebrating my 30th birthday this year! Wow, i’m getting older These fabulous peacock glam inspired birthday party invitations were designed for a young lady celebrating her “Journey into 30″. There was a full weekend of events planned for her attendants. The main invitation was a triple layer panel card invitation made of all metallic cardstock, purple swarovski crystal accents and a real peacock feather embellishment. They were also personalized with each guests name! The invitation was mailed in a metallic blue cardstock envelope with a coordinating address band label. I designed a special monogram for her event that was featured on the address label.

For those guests only invited to the celebratory party we created these double sided postcards within the same color palette and style of the main invitations. Her monogram was the focal point of this design.

Love Letter Invitations | Vintage Love Bridal Shower Design

When I began discussing ideas for invitations, stationery and decor with my client, Kujuanna, I was instantly inspired by the love and relationship of the bride and groom to be. She was planning an “Old Fashion Love” bridal shower for her dear friend. We decided upon a Vintage Love theme in her color palette of black, white and red. Everything would be designed to be very romantic, intimate and warm.

The bridal shower invitations were designed as handwritten love letters! The concept involved a letter size invitation with a personalized letter to each of her guests detailing the new love her of her life and inviting them to her bridal shower. They were then enclosed in a paper belly band containing a love poem, and embellished with a tassel and wax seal with a double heart design. The letters were mailed in black envelopes with custom printed heart envelope liners and address band wrap.

For the day of the shower I designed coordinating game booklets, candy bag labels, candy table signs, welcome signage, cd favor labels (not pictured), placecards, thank you cards and a custom guest book.

Along with the paper I also helped her to conceptualize the event design which included lots of candle light, red rose centerpieces, red rose petals scattered through out and vellum wrapped cylinders. Here is a quick photo I captured with my phone to show the look and feel of the shower.

30th Birthday Party Invitations | Men’s Suit & Tie Inspired

This custom invitation was designed for the husband of one of my special repeat clients, Dana. She was planning a fantastic 30th birthday party for her husband so the invitations had to be special and unique. After discussing the Harlem Renaissance theme and black, white and red color palette of the party I came up with this concept. The idea was to design a gatefold style invitation as a men’s suit jacket complete with a ribbon resembling a tie. The outside of the gatefold also featured black suit jacket buttons! The invitation was wrapped in tissue paper and mailed in a coordinating black box. For the day of the party I designed table signs and cigar bands (not featured) for his cigar bar. This was such a fun invitation to work on and i’m thankful to clients that allow my creativity to soar!

Last year I had the pleasure of designing the invitations, stationery and event design for a new mommy expecting twins, a boy and a girl! As a tribute to the mom’s love of basketball we came up with an “All Star Twins” basketball themed shower. Today i’ll show you the style guide used to brand the entire event along with the basketball ticket style invitations that were mailed out to guests. Sweet Table Design | Yellow, Black & White Reception Candy Table

Last summer we designed an elegant candy table for a wedding reception held at Silver Garden Event Center in Southfield, MI.
