Pretty Invitation Postage from the Post Office

Lepenn Designs Postage Tips

I’m going to go against “the norm” a little bit with this post, so i’ll just come right out and say that “wedding cake/flower stamps” from the Post Office are cheesy!  Yes, I understand that they’re a decent alternative when you can’t go with custom stamps but I don’t think they add much character to your invitations unless your wedding will be very simple, traditional and understated.

In a perfect world everyone can budget for custom stamps that coordinate perfectly with their invitations, but when you can’t try to make the best of what the Post Office has to offer.  For simple invitations that are a flat panel card, insert and envelope you’ll probably be okay with .49 cent first class stamps.  Or if your invitation is over an ounce, square or non-machinable then you’ll be at .71 cents and up.  Depending on your postage you may have to pair together a first class stamp with a .20 cent stamp, but that will just mess up the flow of what you’re trying to create with pretty stamps!  So, if you just double up the first class stamps you might spend an extra $20 but it’s so much more worth it in my opinion.

I did some searching through stamps listed on the US Post Office website and have curated some options that would work beautifully with various wedding and invitation styles.  My rational behind each of these selected stamps is not based on literally what the stamp was designed for, but more so the colors and graphic design of the stamp.  Okay, let’s explore some options…
